CLEVELAND - SS&G is proud to announce the promotion of five professionals to associate director positions in its Cleveland office.
Angela Alexander, CPA, MSA, was promoted to associate director of tax services. Angela has more than 15 years of public accounting experience. She specializes in corporate compliance, concentrating in the area of consolidated structures. Angela has extensive experience working with clients in a variety of industries, specializing in manufacturing and the steel industry. She worked at Ernst & Young prior to joining SS&G. Angela earned her Master of Science in accounting and Bachelor of Science in business administration from Kent State University. She is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and the SS&G IRS Practice and Procedures Group.
Donna Sakony, CPA, was promoted to associate director of tax services. She has more than 18 years of experience providing business and personal tax compliance, tax research, and tax planning services for a wide-range of closely held businesses. Donna has worked with several industries, with a concentration on real estate. Her real estate industry experience includes providing services for a publicly-traded real estate developer and Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credit (HTC) developers, contractors, and operators. Her expertise in real estate also includes like-kind exchanges, exit strategies and partnership transactions. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from John Carroll University. Donna is a member of the AICPA, OSCPA, and is a board member and membership director of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She is also a former board member and membership director of the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) and a former Council of Small Enterprise (COSE) ambassador.
Giselle El Biri, CPA, was promoted to associate director of assurance services. She has extensive experience in financial accounting, auditing, and consulting. Giselle has spent her entire career working with privately owned businesses. She is responsible for performing audit, review, and compilation services for closely held businesses, supervising professional staff, planning and administering all fieldwork, and performing key client relation functions. Giselle specializes in working with clients in the restaurant and hospitality industry, as well as the long-term care and retail industries, and performing audits for employee benefit plans. She is a graduate of John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in accounting and is a member of the AICPA and the OSCPA.
Jaclyn Stimac, CPA, was promoted to associate director of assurance services. She has more than 16 years of experience and is responsible for performing audit, review, and compilation services for her clients, supervising professional staff, planning and administering all fieldwork, and performing key client relation functions. Jackie primarily serves privately owned businesses in various industries, mainly construction and manufacturing, but also in service and distribution. She also works on pension audits, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Jackie is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting. She is a member of the AICPA, OSCPA, CFMA, and Leadership Geauga.
Kerilyn Boergert, JD, was promoted to associate director of state and local tax and transaction advisory services. Keri has more than 15 years of experience providing business and personal tax compliance, tax research, and tax planning services for a wide range of closely held businesses. Keri specializes in the firm's state and local tax and transaction advisory services areas, and her experience extends to all aspects of corporate income and franchise tax, sales/use tax, and personal property tax. Her practice includes both tax compliance and tax consulting engagements (e.g., state tax planning and structural analysis, merger and acquisition due diligence, nexus studies, voluntary disclosures, state refund claims, and state audit representation). She also has experience handling a variety of litigation support cases. Additionally, she has drafted and reviewed business organizational documents and contracts as well as various legal complaints, responses, motions, and briefs for litigation cases when she was a practicing attorney. Keri earned a Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in accounting from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, including its Women in Law section, the Ohio State Bar Association, and is a Trustee on the Board of the Mentor Public Library.
