COLUMBUS - SS&G is proud to announce the promotion of Ryan Hecht, CPA, and Jeff Tubaugh, CPA, to directors in its Columbus office.
Ryan Hecht manages client engagements with a strong emphasis in the restaurant, nonprofit, wholesale and distribution, technology, and professional service industries. Ryan's experience includes working with public and privately owned businesses for external audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statement; tax consulting; and employee benefit plans. He works with entrepreneurs, focusing on all aspects of their financial and strategic business needs. Ryan graduated cum laude in the Business Administration (Cohort) Honors Program from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, majoring in accounting, and was a University Scholar from 1997-2001. Ryan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Ohio Society of CPAs, as well as the Association for Corporate Growth, Columbus Chapter. He is also a mentor for 10Xelerator, offering mentoring to entrepreneurs looking to establish viable, sustainable companies in central Ohio. Ryan also serves as a member and treasurer for the State of Ohio State Audit Committee, and as a member of the executive committee on board for HandsOn Central Ohio. He is also a member on the Children's Hunger Alliance Central Ohio Regional board.
Jeff Tubaugh's main concentration is domestic tax compliance, planning and consulting for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and individuals. His business clients are in a variety of industries including restaurants, real estate, architecture, advertising, law firms, construction, manufacturing, medical and distribution. He is a member of the firm's tax resource and solutions team, providing technical expertise internally for current clients and externally through Second Glance services for non-clients. Jeff is a firm-wide technical leader in cost segregation, and is responsible for managing the firm's Central Ohio practice. Cost segregation studies consist of analyzing a building's structural versus non-structural components for accelerated depreciation tax savings. Jeff has provided tax savings using this technique for clients owning restaurants, manufacturing and distribution facilities, nursing homes, country clubs, medical offices, retail stores, and general office space. Jeff graduated from Muskingum University with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and business. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Ohio Society of CPAs, and the Columbus Metropolitan Club. Jeff is also a board member and President of the Westerville Education Foundation.
