Glendale - Fifteen Henry & Horne, LLP employees took part in a weekend of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday and helped put food on the table of Valley families in need.
Team members spent a Saturday morning picking citrus from trees at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale as part of Project Vitamin C. The event was hosted by HandsOn Greater Phoenix, which organizes monthly community service projects.
Volunteers picked 18 tons of grapefruit and oranges that were donated to St. Mary's Food Bank. Much of the grapefruit is juiced through a cooperative effort with Sun Orchard in Tempe to produce thousands of gallons of juice, which is bottled and distributed to the homeless and low income families throughout the year.
