Francis Clark Financial Planning has announced the appointment of Andrew Newcombe as Senior Consultant covering the Truro and Plymouth catchment.

The appointment takes the number of advisers at Francis Clark Financial Planning to 16 with 50% of these already having reached Chartered Financial Planner status.

As a former Director at Bishop Fleming Independent Financial Advisers and a national IFA, Andrew Newcombe brings a wealth of experience to his new role having provided independent advice to clients in the Devon and Cornwall area over the last 18 years.

The 54 year-old Chartered Financial Planner has specific expertise in pension, investment and inheritance tax planning as well as individual protection and corporate financial planning.

Francis Clark Financial Planning Chairman Alan Turner said: "The improving economy and recent changes in how people can access their pension pots has prompted increased demand for expert financial advice at a time when it is difficult to find advisers with Andrew's experience and qualifications. He makes an excellent addition to our team and will greatly add value to the services we provide our clients."

Andrew Newcombe added: "I am delighted to join a firm which has the resources and reputation of providing quality advice to clients in the South West.   This quality is demonstrated by Francis Clark Financial Planning achieving corporate chartered status which is the gold standard for quality and ethics in our industry.

"Since joining I have been impressed by the quality of staff at Francis Clark, the very positive "can do" attitude and the breadth of planning undertaken with clients.

"My remit is to provide advice to an ever increasing portfolio of clients on relevant and topical subjects including expert guidance on the implications of the significant changes to pension legislation which as yet have not been fully understood by many of the people affected. "

Andrew Newcombe is expected to become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute and Personal Finance Society in April next year.
