Sikich partner to collaborate with fellow industry experts, provide specialized guidance to not-for-profits

Naperville, Ill. - The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) recently appointed Frank Jakosz, a partner in Sikich LLP's not-for-profit services practice, to its inaugural Not-For-Profit (NFP) Advisory Council. Jakosz will serve alongside 12 other CPAs from across the country who have expertise in audit, accounting and reporting, tax and governance.

"I am honored to join such an elite group of thought leaders," said Frank Jakosz. "The members of this council have a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping not-for-profits grow and succeed. I look forward to collaborating with my peers to help organizations of all sizes operate more efficiently and tell their financial story in a genuine, compelling way."

The NFP Advisory Council will provide expert counsel, such as specialized guidance, tools, in-depth reports and a variety of resources, to those who serve the not-for-profit sector along with not-for-profits themselves. The Council will cover numerous topics, including governance, operations, accounting and reporting, audit and tax and compliance and regulatory issues. Jakosz currently serves on AICPA's Technical Standards Subcommittee of the Ethics Division. He is also a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) NFP Resource Group.

Jakosz has co-authored numerous AICPA publications, including the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide - Not-for-Profit Organizations, AICPA Not-for-Profit Entities Industry Developments - Audit Risk Alert, Not-for-Profit Organizations Industry Developments, AICPA Not-for-Profit Entities Accounting Trends & Techniques and the AICPA Not-for-Profit Entities Checklists & Illustrative Financial Statements.

"Frank is the only Council member from the Chicago area," said Jim Sikich, CEO of Sikich LLP. "His lifelong commitment to serving not-for-profits combined with more than 42 years of public accounting experience will make him an invaluable addition as he provides best-in-class counsel and helps not-for-profits stay on the cutting edge of compliance and reporting."

The council will hold its first planning meeting from Dec. 4-5 in Raleigh, N.C.
