Cambridge based Streets Chartered Accountants, a top 40 accountancy practice, is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Director, Lee Maughan.
Prior to joining Streets Lee was a Director with Deloitte in Cambridge, where he was a member of the firm's entrepreneurial team and an adviser to professional firms and owner-managed businesses.
Commenting on his appointment with Streets Chartered Accountants, Lee Maughan, said: "Moving from a Big 4 to a Top 40 firm is an exciting move, particularly in my new role as I am able to develop my interest in the thriving local economy and support the success of privately owned businesses. Streets offers me, perhaps a rare or even unique opportunity, to play a key part in the development of a 21st century accountancy practice within the city in which I live and work."
Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2004, Lee has developed a particular specialism and interest in the audit and assurance needs of professional practices and limited liability partnerships, whether that is the field of the legal profession or for those engaged in land deals or property development. This is an area of work, along with his work with owner-managed business that Lee will be focusing on and developing as a Director at Streets.
In addition to his client work Lee takes a keen interest in the Cambridge business community, through organisations such as the Cambridge Network and the Chamber and Institute of Directors. Lee is currently Treasurer and Vice Chairman of the Institute of Directors in Cambridgeshire.
Commenting on the importance of Lee's appointment to the firm, Chairman and Managing Partner, Paul Tutin, said: "We are especially pleased to have been able to recruit Lee. His passion for Cambridge and his entrepreneurial approach makes him an ideal addition to our senior team.
"Certainly his commitment and enthusiasm for the development of Streets both in Cambridge and throughout the eastern region aligns well with our firm's drive as a leading provider of accountancy, tax and business advisory services, which is very much at the heart of the community and in line with the needs of clients in the 21st century.
"Lee's appointment, along with the other developments at our Cambridge office, means that we now have 9 partners and directors within the team in Cambridge. At Streets, whilst much of what we do is supporting the growth of our clients, growth is very much at the heart of our own business too and as such we not only share the area's growth ethos but also shape it and support it."
