Corrie Casserly, CPA, joined the firm as a senior accountant in the Tax department. Casserly comes to us with over five years of experience at Ernst & Young in the tax department working on partnerships, corporations and high-net-worth individuals. She has a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin and a master's of science degree in accounting. She also has a creative side to her, which includes being an artist, painter and Feng Shui consultant.
Calvin Chu, CPA, joined the firm as a staff accountant in the Tax department. Chu comes to us with previous public accounting experience working for both a Big Four firm and a regional firm, working with private companies providing assurance and tax compliance services. He graduated from Tamkang University in Taiwan, where he studied banking and finance. He followed that with a master of business administration degree from Adelphi University, a master of science in accounting and information systems degree from Queens College and finished with studying finance, real estate and taxation at New York University. He is also a certified financial service auditor, certified fraud examiner and real estate broker. He speaks Mandarin, Min Nan and Taiwanese.
Keith Maynard, CPA, joined the firm as a senior accountant in the Tax department, recently moving to Orange County from Texas. He has five years of experience in public accounting working on corporations, partnerships and individual taxation. In addition, he has some industry specialization with banking and insurance. Maynard has been very involved in the American Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation and his church, Antioch Community Church. He graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and a master of science degree in taxation.
Rachel Nguyenjoined the firm as a staff accountant in the Tax department. She graduated recently with honor, Cum Laude, from Cal State University Fullerton with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting. She spent the last four months working at the State Board of Equalization and did volunteer tax preparation through the IRS' Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. During college, she was also an active officer in Beta Alpha Psi, the honors society for accounting and finance students, and a member of the Business Honors Program.
Sebastian Galmarini joined the firm as a staff accountant on the Audit and Business Advisory Services team. Galmarini comes with seven years of experience in private industry managing monthly closings, account reconciliations, budgets, cost accounting, payroll and more. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from University of California, Irvine and an MBA from University of California, Redlands. He has passed all four sections of the CPA exam. He is fluent in Spanish and previously played NCAA soccer for the Anteaters.
Josiah Vander Poorten joins our firm as a staff accountant in the Audit and Business Advisory Services department. Most recently, Vander Poorten worked as a project accountant at engineering firm Kimley-Horn and Associates in Orange. (Yes, he is an expert in percentage-of-completion accounting.) He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor of science degree in marketing and earned an MBA (concentration in accounting) from the University of LaVerne.
