Galveston, Texas-Lane Gorman Trubitt, PLLC's ("LGT") Dealer Services Group recently held the first of 2015's biannual Controllers' Roundtable ("CRT") seminars on June 18 and 19 at the San Luis Resort.

The LGT Dealer Services Group organizes nearly two days of seminars for dealership controllers across the Southwest every year. Each time, guest speakers present the very latest on financial issues facing dealerships and continuing professional education ("CPE") credits are awarded to attendees. The Dealer Services Group knows that as a controller or CFO, it is hard to get away and visit somewhere relaxing; that's why they choose to host the CRT events in exciting areas controllers can enjoy while attending.

Topics covered at the spring event in Galveston were: How to Make A Generator Pay at a Dealership by Brandon Lobb with Locke Lord; Sex, Gender, Same-Sex Marriage, & Transgender Employees: What It All Means and Marijuana, E-Cigarettes, and Other Smoky Things by Stephen Roppolo with Fisher & Phillips; Dealership Real Estate by Dan Garces & Gabe Robleto with CARS; ERISA and DOL Compliance by Tonia McBride with LGT; CFPB Impact On Dealers and a Texas Legislative Update by Michael Dunagan with Jameson and Dunagan, P.C.; and Consolidated Accounting by Kevin Smith with Better Resource.

These topics were presented over two days and each day LGT facilitated a roundtable discussion, giving the group of controllers an open forum to discuss with one another common issues or new developments in the industry. Controllers also had the option of attending the additional Excel® training session the final day of the conference under the instruction of Erica Tang, Supervisor of Assurance Services at LGT.

The second 2015 CRT session will be on October 22 and 23 in San Antonio, Texas at the Hyatt Regency on the Riverwalk. To register for this event or to learn more, visit http://www.lgt-cpa.com/events.html.
