An audit senior at the Plymouth office of chartered accountants Francis Clark has beaten thousands of candidates from all over the world to win two International Subject Order of Merits in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) ACA professional examinations.

Robin Doddrell was placed first from an entry of 1,199 candidates and was awarded the 'Little Prize' for the Business Planning Taxation professional stage examination paper. He achieved another first place and the 'Railton Prize' for the Business Strategy professional examination paper topping an entry of 1,252.

He said: "I'm delighted to have achieved these results and thank Francis Clark for their support in developing my career. I joined the ACA graduate trainee scheme at Francis Clark in September 2013, mainly because I wanted to work for a local practice and they were the biggest and best regional firm. I'm now focussing on qualifying in my finals next summer and then I'll be looking to progress my career in the audit department."

Francis Clark Audit Partner, Duncan Leslie, added: "Winning two 'Order of Merit' awards is a remarkable achievement by anyone's standards. Robin can now build on this success and develop a distinguished his career which we will support all the way.

"As a firm we work hard to identify, nurture and reward talented young people and Robin is a great example of what can be achieved. "
