We are glad to announce, that employees of SCHNEIDER GROUP office in St. Petersburg, Director-Partner Andreas Bitzi and Head of Accounting Group Olga Konovalova, were awarded the Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank Group for participation at Doing Business 2016 project – for giving their expertise in the area of taxation in Russian Federation, Saint Petersburg.
Mr. Bitzi and Ms. Konovalova gave their expert opinion on one of the criteria which were used for Doing Business report creation - paying taxes indicator, which measures the taxes and mandatory contributions that a standardized case study firm pays in its second year of operation.
Doing Business 2016 - is an annual report on the state of health of economies based on detailed diagnostics not of the relatively more visible features (such as growth) and various macroeconomic parameters (such as the public debt) but of underlying and embedded characteristics - such as the regulatory system, the efficacy of the bureaucracy and the nature of business governance.
This year’s report presents data for 189 economies and aggregates information from different areas of business regulation - starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts - to develop an overall ease of doing business ranking.
According to figures from Doing Business 2016 the Russian Federation has improved its position for 11 points and raised up to place 51 out of 62 rating positions.
Andreas Bitzi and Olga Konovalova are also going to take part in creation of Doing Business 2017 issue by evaluating any reforms which affect taxation in Russia within calendar year 2015.
