This award recognizes Kentucky women of achievement who inspire and motivate other women through their personal, community, and professional lives. She will receive the award at Women Leading Kentucky’s 17th annual Women’s Business and Leadership Conference this May in Lexington, Kentucky. “Paula Hanson is much more than just a partner working at a regional accounting firm.  She works tirelessly both as a dedicated business advisor to her clients as well as an enthusiastic and effective member of the community around her. She embodies the true spirit of leadership and philanthropy. In 1999, the Martha Layne Collins Leadership Award was created and presented to former Governor Martha Layne Collins for her contributions to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and its people. This award recognizes Kentucky women of achievement who inspire and motivate other women through their personal, community and professional lives. Each year, women from across the Commonwealth are nominated to receive the award. A committee reviews each application to assess the candidate’s contributions to her profession and community, in addition to serving as a role model for other women.
