Sends All Employees to Eight Local Charity Organizations
Kansas City, Mo. – MarksNelson accounting and consulting firm shifts gears for the day to allow all of its employees to participate in the annual “Volunteer Day” with eight Kansas City nonprofit organizations. More than 130 staff members will put down their calculators, turn off their computers and roll-up their sleeves to paint, clean, sort food and do yardwork.
“Volunteer Day” is part of the firm’s award winning Marks of Kindness program, an internal initiative designed to bring employees together in support of community service and charitable endeavors. The goal is to make a positive impact on Kansas City, build strong relationships with area nonprofits as well as promote and encourage teamwork. MarksNelson won the 2015 IMPACT Award from the Kansas City Business Journal for the initiative.
Employees were given a choice of eight firm nonprofit partners including: Community Linc, Harvesters, Healing House, Hope House, Hope Center, Morning Side Place, Operation Breakthrough and Powell Gardens.
