About the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Foundation

The Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, established in 1979, is one of just nine institutions awarded a prestigious multi-million dollar NIH "Alzheimer's Disease Center" grant since the designation's inception in 1985. Soon after, the University realized that private donations would grow the Center's ability to further its work in clinical research and patient and caregiver programs, and in 1986, the Center on Aging Foundation was established as a fund-raising entity for the UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. The original members of the board immediately went to work obtaining support from corporations, foundations and individuals to assist in the continuous work of the center.
